Coastal Inspired Home Décor: Creating a Timeless Blue & White Home Office
There is something about blue and white interiors that never goes out of style. They feel fresh in summer, cosy in winter and somehow always remind me of long days by the sea, hydrangeas in bloom and beautiful New England homes overlooking the water.
Over the years the home office at Briant Point slowly evolved into a space that perfectly reflects everything I love about interior design – relaxed coastal elegance, natural textures and timeless details that tell a story.

The Inspiration Behind The Office At Briant Point:
When designing this room, I wanted it to feel calm, collected and inspiring.
The foundation of the room is simple:
-
Soft whites and warm neutrals
-
Layers of natural textures
-
Timeless blue-and-white accents
-
Plenty of natural light
-
Artwork inspired by coastal living
The large windows overlooking the water create the most beautiful backdrop and instantly make the room feel serene and connected to nature.

A beautiful ginger jar lamp instantly adds character to a room. I love pairing it with stacks of coffee table books, hydrangeas and woven textures to create that effortless collected look.
Blue and white is one of those colour combinations that always feels timeless. It reminds me of Nantucket cottages, Ralph Lauren interiors and elegant seaside homes that have been lovingly curated over many years.
The Power of Blue & White
If I had to choose one design element I could never live without, it would undoubtedly be blue-and-white porcelain.
Layering Natural Textures
One of my favourite ways to make a room feel warm and inviting is by layering natural materials.
Sisal rugs, wicker baskets, linen upholstery and warm wood tones soften the blue accents and create balance within the space.
These textures bring a relaxed, lived-in feeling that perfectly complements coastal interiors.

Creating an Interior Designer Mood Board
Recently, I transformed photographs of the office into a coastal mood board, combining images of the room with details that inspire me:
-
Blue-and-white fabrics
-
Sisal textures
-
Hydrangea artwork
-
Coastal colour palettes
-
Collected decorative objects
-
Soft linen and woven elements
Mood boards are one of my favourite creative exercises because they allow you to see how colours, textures and pieces work together before making design decisions.
They also remind us that beautiful interiors are often created slowly over time.
My Coastal Colour Palette
The colours I always gravitate towards are:
🤍 Soft Linen White
💙 Hydrangea Blue
🤍 Sandy Beige
💙 Sea Glass Blue
🤍 Warm Natural Wood Tones
These colours instantly create a feeling of calm and bring a touch of the coast indoors.
Bringing Coastal Living Into Your Own Home
You don't need a house by the sea to create a coastal-inspired interior.
Sometimes all it takes is:
-
A blue-and-white ginger jar lamp
-
A beautiful piece of coastal artwork
-
Fresh hydrangeas on a table
-
A sisal rug underfoot
-
Soft linen cushions in varying shades of blue
Small details can completely transform how a room feels.
The home office at Briant Point has become one of my favourite spaces serves as a daily reminder of everything that inspires my artwork and collections – the ocean, timeless interiors and the beauty of relaxed coastal living.
Thank you for following along and sharing this love for blue and white interiors with me. I would love to know…
Are you drawn to coastal interiors too? And what is the one piece in your home that instantly makes you feel relaxed and happy?
With love,
Daniela xx 🤍💙🌊🐚
